Where Do Our Retired Pastors Live
There are 100 retired pastors registered in the Reformed Church District of Királyhágómellék. But where do these pastors spend their retirement years? We set out to find out.
According to the available data, Oradea ranks first, with 12 retired pastors living there. Second is Satu Mare, where 9 pastors reside, followed by Carei in third place, with 4 pastors. In Oradea, the "Ősi" district is the most popular area among them.
Within the Carei Deanery, retired pastors also live in Bogdand, Berveni, Dobra, Săcășeni and Tășnad. In percentage terms, 9 percent have chosen the Carei area as the place to spend their retirement years, which is a significant figure and shows that the region is quite popular among them.
Sixty-nine percent of the pastors have remained at home, in Transylvania, while 31 percent live abroad. The largest proportion, 24 percent, have settled in Hungary. Others have moved to more distant countries, including Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Scotland, the United States and Canada.
